First lets start with God - Our Creator!
Let’s think rationally for a minute. Everything we have was created by someone. Our clothes, cars, houses were created by someone or a company made of individuals.
DaVinci painted the Mona Lisa. The strokes of a paint brush created beautiful pictures. Beethoven’s mind created the rhythms and the sequence of notes that gave the world beautiful music. Michelangelo sculpted the statue of David and painted the Sistine Chapel ceiling. People created wonderful works of art and music.
Without DaVinci, there would not be a Mona Lisa. Without Beethoven, there would not be a 5th symphony. Without a creator, there would be no creation!
Our world was created by a creator!

Here is an example of God’s creative mind. God uses science, math, botany, astrology, etc to give us a world like no other.
Fibonacci sequence
The Fionnnacci sequence is a series of numbers where each number is the sum of the two preceding ones, for example 0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55…. and so on.
Essentially, math, physics, science are all designed by God.

This can be found in botany (flower pedals, pinecones, and seeds on sunflower heads).
The first verse of the Bible, Genesis 1:1 “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”
Read Genesis 1: 1- 25 God took nothing and made everything. That is God. God has no bounderies. God is all powerful, all knowing, and is everywhere at the same time. God can create the heavens and the earth, light and darkness, water and land, stars, sun, and moon, fish, birds, and mammals. God created everything by just speaking it into existence. God said it was good!
Read Gen 1: 26-31 By day 6, man and women and everything we need to live. God said it was very good!
Gen 2:1 -3 Day 7, God had completed his work and he rested. God blessed the seventh day and made it holy. Holy means set apart. God worked 6 days and then took a day off and rested. We work through the week at a job, caring for our families, doing what needs to be done on Saturday (mow the grass, fix the car, etc…), but on Sunday we should rest. Stop doing and relax, play!
Gen 2: 4 God explains how he created the plants and trees on the earth. God had not sent rain. The streams and rivers rose and fell watering the earth. It doesn’t rain on the earth until the flood in Gen 7:12. Imagine the prefect environment, humidity levels, like a greenhouse to sustain all the plants.
Gen 2:7 “Then the Lord God formed a man from the dusk of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of Life, and the man became a living being”. God explains how he created man. God used the dust of the earth to create mankind. That is why you may have heard the saying, “From dust to dust”. When we die our bodies decay back into the dust of the earth. All living creature become dust and return to dust.
We live because God gives us breath! God is in control of our lives, we are not. God knows the day we will be born and the day we will die. We can try to live healthy lives, eating healthy foods, exercise, not smoke or vape, take our vitamins, get 8 hrs of sleep every night, but God has given you a certain number of days on this earth. What we do will not change the date of our death. “Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them care to be”. Psalm 139: 16
Gen 2:15 God put man (Adam) in the Garden of Eden. Adam had a perfect life with everything he could want. The animals were good, friendly, and loving. The food was every kind of vegetables and fruit created. The water was clean and pure. Adam had a relationship with God. God spoke to Adam. They had conversations. God ask Adam to name all the animals. God had one request of Adam, a command. A command means it is important, non negotiable, you must obey. 2:17 “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must NOT eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die”. God loves His creation. God loves Adam. God does not want Adam to die, so he warns him. He commands him not to eat that fruit. Eden was full of lush plants, trees and animals. God said He put two distinct trees in the middle of the garden. The Tree of Life and The Tree of knowledge of Good and Evil. Why did God put these two trees in this garden. To teach Adam how to love. Love is not errand, it is freely given. “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking. It is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrong. Love does not delight in evil, but rejoiced with the truth. It always protects, always trust, always hopes, always perserveres. Love never fails.” 1st Corinthians 13: 4-8 God put those trees in the middle of the garden to help Adam see he has a choice to love God or himself. Adam had a choice. We all have a choice to love God or ourselves. If Adam chose to eat from the Tree of Life he would live forever. I’m not sure Adam realized that. Adam did know he was not to eat of the Tree of Good and Evil. Eve was not created yet to hear this conversation.
I’m sure Adam ask what it is to die. Wouldn’t you? Adam most likely asked God lots of questions. What is good, what is evil, what is die. Adam trusted God. He had no reason not too.
God saw Adam with the animals and knew that would not be enough to keep Adam happy. The animals were made male and female. God knew Adam needed a companion, a helper. God had alway planned to create Eve, but when you don’t have something someone else has, it makes you want it more. The animals had a mate. God caused Adam to fall into a deep sleep and out of Adam’s side God took a rib and created Eve. Gen 2: 23-24 Adam said “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called ‘women’ for she was taken out of man.” This is why at wedding ceremonies you will hear the pastor say “This is why a man leaves his father and mother and is unitied to his wife, and they become one flesh”. I’m sure Adam appreciated what he saw when he woke up and saw Eve. Adam had a mate.
Why do we need God? He loves us. God loves you because you are his creation. He made you. He is the only one who will love you completely regardless of your faults, failures, and ignorance. We may not know a lot about God, but God knows everything about us and He still loves us.
