Why We Need God

Not knowing will effect your eternity!

Who is God?

The word “God” means many things to many people. Belief in God varies from person to person. Since the beginning of man’s existence people believed in something. How did life begin without a creator? "Now faith is the confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see." Hebrews 11:1. We cannot see God, so why believe is something we cannot see?

Is there a God?

Rationally we know humans were somehow made. Was there a time and event that “Poof” and we existed. Where did we come from? Where did the earth, the sky, and the galaxies come from? Did life evolve from a one cell ameba, did the universe explode with big bang causing creation, or were humans created? Faith is believing in any or all of these theories. Theories are not facts. Facts are facts. So what are the facts?

Trinity

What is a the Trinity? The Trinity (Latin: Trinitas, lit. 'triad', from Latin: trinus 'threefold') is the central doctrine concerning the nature of God in most Christian churches . The trinity is defines as one God existing in three coequal, coeternal, and codivine persons. God the Father, God the Son (Jesus), and God the Holy Spirit, three distinct persons sharing one essence/substance/nature. I don’t think as a human in our dimension we can truly comprehend this concept. We just believe it because we believe in God, that is faith. I’ve heard of a few examples to help us comprehend this concept. Think of an egg. There is a shell, the yolk, and the whites. One egg, three parts. Here is another one, time past, present, and future. It’s all time, but three different aspects of time. An apple has three parts, the skin, the flesh of the apple, and the seeds. The different parts, but all make up one apple. You get the idea. Each person of the trinity has their own function, purpose, and identity.

Each person of the Trinity has a different purpose. We will discuss their purpose

I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
- John 14:6
